Dr. D. Y. Patil Education Society



The society has been established in 1984 and working through various educational institutes. Institutes working at Talsande Farm:

1. Krishi Vidnyan Kendra (Agriculture Science Center)

KVK has been established in 1994. Since then it is working for the farmers for transfer of technology from lab to land. Through organization of Farmer’s Rallies, Field Demonstrations & Campaigns, farmers are trained for advanced technologies in Agriculture. Special Training Camps are organized for women self-employment. Seed and fertilizer distribution to the farmers is also a major programmer under taken by KVK

2. Krishi Tantra Vidyalaya (Agricultural School)

Since 2000-2001 about 120 students every year are taking education in this Institute. After Completion of studies students are engaged in self employment, in small scale industries and in government and private sectors related to Agriculture. Further degree courses are also offered to diploma holder students through distance education of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University study center at Talsande Farm. Nursery and Vermicompost projects are run by students of Krishi Tantra Vidyalaya with the help of KVK and getting benefits of practical experience.

3. Pad. Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Agriculture Engineering and Technology

Agriculture Engineering is an integral part of Modern Agriculture. Agriculture continues to contribute about 25 % of national income and remains a major sector that employs 60% of the labor force in rural India. A major challenge in agriculture is technological developments that are within the reach of farmers’ limited resources. The challenge can be faced through education research and extension of Agriculture Engineering. Agriculture Engineering is combination of all basic engineering disciplines with its orientation towards Agriculture. The scope of Agriculture Engineering is wide, covering, diversified fields as Farm Irrigation, Pumping Machines, Drainage, Farm Building & Structures, Environmental Engg. & Rural Electrification. Pad. Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology commits for pursuing excellence in technical education of Agriculture.

About Degree Programme

Degree: - B. Tech (Agril. Engineering)
Duration: - 4 years (8 semesters)
Eligibility: - XII Standard pass with PCM / PCMB Group of Maharashtra State Higher Secondary Board or equivalent. MH-CET IS NOT REQUIRED
Intake Capacity : - 80 (16 seats for Management Quota)

4. Pad. Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Agriculture

There is ever-increasing demand for fresh & processed fruits & vegetable products in the domestic as well as World Market. Horticulture contributes 29.5% of Agricultural GDP from 8.5% Area & 10 % total agricultural export earning. Even though India is second largest country in the world in production of fruits & vegetables, there is great scope for increasing production of all horticultural produce. Horticulture imparts nutritional security to the sizable population of this country. Cultivation of Horticultural crops offer a great potential for efficient input use, diversification of crops, employment generation and foreign exchange earning through Horticulture processing industries. So also advanced technology & government schemes are offering support to the farmers through various measures to complete globally. In future therefore Horticulture Graduates will have great demand in various sectors like Farm Processing Industries, Hi-tech consultancy, Marketing, Banking etc.

Duration: - 4 Years (8 Semesters)
Eligibility: - XII standard pass with PCB / PCMB group of MSHSB or equivalent MH-CET IS NOT REQUIRED
Intake Capacity: - 60 (12 seats for Management Quota)
